About Our Firm

A D French & Associates was founded by Antonio D. French in 2000 while he was a field coordinator for Missouri Voters for Fair Elections, directing signature-gatherers in a campaign to get campaign finance reform and voluntary public financing of campaigns on the ballot in Missouri.

It was not long afterwards that Antonio was hired to manage his first candidate campaign, the re-election campaign of a powerful veteran state senator, Wayne Goode, in Missouri’s 13th district.

That successful campaign was soon followed by a string of other wins for our candidates — State Senator Patrick Dougherty, Alderman Melinda Long, and Democratic Committeewoman Myrtle French.

Between campaigns, Antonio also worked as a lobbyist in the state capitol.

In 2001, he become the youngest member of the executive committee of Missouri’s Department of Corrections under then-director Dora Schriro. Antonio served as her Legislative Liaison, the department’s chief lobbyist and liaison to the Office of the Governor, State Senate, and House of Representatives.

That same year, Antonio was named “One of Missouri’s Most Magnetic People” by St. Louis Magazine.

Today, Antonio writes the very popular daily political blog, Pub Def Weekly, and continues to serve as president of A D French & Associates.
